Role Overview
The Senior Talend Consultant will be a pivotal figure in our data engineering department, specifically focused on high-stakes government projects. This role requires a deep understanding of the Talend Data Fabric ecosystem and the ability to navigate complex, secure environments. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data integration, from initial architectural design to production deployment and optimization. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior developers and provide strategic guidance on data governance and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement robust ETL/ELT workflows using Talend Data Integration and Talend Data Fabric.
- Develop scalable data pipelines capable of handling massive datasets, both structured and unstructured, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Lead the integration of disparate data sources including legacy databases, modern REST/SOAP APIs, and cloud-native platforms.
- Ensure all data solutions adhere to strict government security standards and regulatory compliance (NIST, FISMA).
- Perform rigorous data validation and quality assurance to maintain the integrity of public sector information.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and policy analysts, to translate business needs into technical reality.
- Optimize existing workflows for maximum performance and reliability in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Support deployment in hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and manage CI/CD pipelines for data assets.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years in the ETL and Data Integration space with a focus on enterprise-level architecture.
- At least 5 years of hands-on, expert-level experience with Talend tools, including Data Mapper and Administration Center.
- Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases.
- Proven track record in government or highly regulated public sector environments.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern DevOps practices including version control (Git) and automated testing.
- Strong communication skills to interact with government stakeholders and implementation partners.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
