Role Overview
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) position in Redmond, WA, is a high-impact role designed for professionals who thrive at the intersection of software engineering and systems operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain self-healing infrastructure using automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless and reliable software delivery across multiple environments.
- Monitor system health using advanced observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack, integrating AI-ops for predictive analysis.
- Define and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to maintain high availability and user satisfaction.
- Lead incident response and conduct thorough blameless post-mortems to drive continuous improvement and prevent recurrence.
- Optimize system performance by identifying bottlenecks and implementing architectural improvements in cloud-native environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for scalability, reliability, and maintainability from the start.
- Manage containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker across hybrid or multi-cloud setups, ensuring security and compliance.
- Automate repetitive operational tasks (toil) to improve engineering efficiency and focus on high-value engineering projects.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on serverless and microservices.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages like Python, Go, or Bash for automation and tool development.
- Deep understanding of Linux/Unix systems administration and networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, and Load Balancing.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management and orchestration tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.
- Familiarity with database management and optimization for both SQL and NoSQL systems in a distributed environment.
- Experience with security best practices, including Zero Trust architecture and automated security scanning in the pipeline.
