Role Overview: SRE Lead (Golang Specialist)
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Lead to join our dynamic technical team in Austin, Texas. This role is designed for a technical visionary who possesses deep expertise in Golang and a passion for building resilient, scalable infrastructure. As an E2 level lead or above, you will be responsible for the reliability, performance, and efficiency of our cloud-native applications. You will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring that our systems are not only functional but also highly available and performant under heavy load.
Key Technical Requirements
- Golang Mastery: Minimum E2 level proficiency in Go. You must be able to deliver high-quality, idiomatic code and have a deep understanding of Go routines, channels, and the standard library.
- Unit Testing: Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive unit tests in Go to ensure code reliability and maintainability.
- Kubernetes Expertise: Extensive experience with K8s at an E2 level, including managing deployments, Statefulsets, and Load Balancers. You should be comfortable troubleshooting complex orchestration issues.
- AWS Cloud Infrastructure: Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services, focusing on compute, storage, and networking services.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Proven track record of implementing and optimizing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment workflows to streamline software delivery.
- Observability Stack: Advanced experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Loki for log aggregation and system monitoring.
Responsibilities and Leadership
As the SRE Lead, you will not only contribute code but also mentor junior engineers and set the standard for operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with management to define SLOs and SLIs, ensuring that our service levels meet business requirements. Your role involves proactive incident management, root cause analysis, and the implementation of automated solutions to prevent recurring issues.
