Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled SSIS Developer for a remote contract opportunity. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes to support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop SQL Server stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers for the ETL process.
- Design and develop SSIS SQL ETL solutions to acquire and prepare data from various upstream systems for processing.
- Build data transformations with SSIS, including importing data from files and moving data between database platforms.
- Debug and tune SSIS or other ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient data movement.
- Design, implement, and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes) and database security.
- Analyze and develop strategies and approaches to import and transfer data between source, staging, and ODS Data Warehouse destinations.
- Test and prepare ETL processes for deployment to production and non-production environments.
- Support system and acceptance testing, including the development or refinement of test plans.
- Monitor job execution, troubleshoot performance issues, optimize SQL queries, and ensure data integrity and security through robust SSIS package development.
Technical Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in SSIS, SSRS, Databricks, Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure.
- 10+ years of experience with Analysis Services.
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, Jenkins/GitHub/Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with SSIS packages.
- Proficient with ETL tools such as Microsoft SSIS.
- Experience with ORACLE SQL.
- Experience with SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Experience with SQL Server 2012 Integration Services (SSIS).
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly SQL DW).
- Experience building pipelines with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Azure Databricks.
- Experience developing dimensional models (fact and dimension tables).
- Experience tuning SQL queries, managing indexes, partitioning, and scaling Synapse compute resources.
- Experience integrating structured relational data with unstructured data.
- Experience with domain-driven design (DDD).
- Knowledge of container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Exposure to financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Enterprise architecture certifications (TOGAF, SAFe, etc.).
Soft Skills
- Ability to influence and lead technical teams.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in an agile, fast-paced delivery environment.
- Strong documentation and presentation skills.
Education
- At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
