Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled SSIS/SSRS Lead Developer for a hybrid role with the State of Texas in Austin, TX. This position is critical for leading the technical discovery and assessment of existing SQL Server environments, focusing on modernization and migration efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, the ability to work independently, and experience migrating SSIS to Web Services and SSRS to PowerBI. This is NOT a DBA role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical discovery and assessment of existing SQL Server environments.
  • Perform a comprehensive inventory of SQL Server assets including databases, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, SQL Agent jobs, stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Conduct dependency mapping and evaluate database artifacts to understand their functional roles and business value.
  • Analyze SSIS workloads to identify patterns, dependencies, and complexity, and classify workloads suitable for modernization, migration, or retirement.
  • Review SSRS reporting assets and provide recommendations for modernization or migration.
  • Utilize AI-assisted accelerator tools to document findings and produce a technical assessment, including dependency analysis, modernization candidates, and technical risks.
  • Deliverables will support the overall migration strategy and modernization roadmap.
  • Present design and approach to upper management.

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of overall IT experience.
  • Must have experience migrating SSIS to Web Services and SSRS to PowerBI.
  • Must be able to work independently and possess strong leadership skills.
  • Public Sector (State / Federal / Local Govt.) client experience preferred.
  • Required Experience:
    • 8+ Years SQL Server Administration
    • 7+ Years SSIS Development and Architecture
    • 7+ Years SSRS Reporting Architecture
    • 6+ Years SQL Server Performance Tuning and Optimization
    • 6+ Years Database Migration and Modernization
    • 6+ Years T-SQL Development
    • 5+ Years Data Integration / ETL Architecture
    • 5+ Years Dependency Mapping and System Analysis
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 4+ Years Power BI Reporting
    • 4+ Years Experience with large enterprise SQL environments
    • 3+ Years Azure Data Platform
    • 2+ Years AI-assisted analysis or automation tools

Additional Requirements:

  • Candidate must work a minimum of two days from the client office in Austin, TX.
  • Program will only accept LOCAL ONLY candidates for this position. Candidates must already reside in Texas.
  • Active Texas DL & LinkedIn ID must be provided for submission.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year
