Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SUSE Linux Administrator to join our technical operations team in Corona, California. This is a critical onsite role focused on the management, optimization, and security of a large-scale enterprise server environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing approximately 120 SLES 15 servers that serve as the backbone for our SAP ERP systems. This position requires a deep understanding of Linux internals, enterprise storage protocols, and the rigorous security standards required in a modern data center environment. As we move into 2026, the complexity of hybrid cloud and high-availability SAP environments demands a proactive administrator who can ensure 99.99% uptime while maintaining a robust security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a fleet of 120 SLES 15 servers specifically optimized for hosting SAP ERP systems, ensuring peak performance and stability.
- Execute comprehensive monthly patching cycles, service pack deployments, and kernel updates to mitigate risks and improve system functionality.
- Troubleshoot and administer complex SMB/NFS connections, ensuring seamless data sharing and storage integration across the network.
- Remediate security vulnerabilities identified by scanning tools and ensure all systems remain in strict compliance with corporate hardening standards.
- Perform routine system health checks, execute cleanup of obsolete packages, and optimize system resources to prevent performance bottlenecks.
- Support ongoing infrastructure projects, including system migrations, hardware refreshes, and high-availability cluster configurations.
- Collaborate with SAP Basis teams and network engineers to resolve cross-functional technical issues affecting the ERP environment.
- Document all system changes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in Linux System Administration, with a specific focus on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).
- Proven expertise in SLES 15 administration, including YaST, Zypper, and AutoYaST for automated deployments.
- Strong proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting SMB and NFS protocols in a multi-platform environment.
- Experience managing Linux servers in an SAP ERP context, understanding the specific performance tuning required for HANA or traditional databases.
- Solid understanding of security hardening principles (CIS benchmarks, SELinux/AppArmor) and vulnerability management.
- Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl) to automate repetitive administrative tasks and monitoring.
- Familiarity with enterprise backup solutions and disaster recovery planning for Linux environments.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 per year
