Job Description: Systems Analyst – Mainframe / COBOL

We are seeking a skilled Systems Analyst with expertise in Mainframe and COBOL to join our team for a long-term engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications. This role requires a strong understanding of COBOL programming, JCL, CICS, and DB2. You will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.

  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for mainframe applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain COBOL programs, JCL, and other mainframe utilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and development environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mainframe systems with other applications.
  • Perform unit testing and support system integration testing.
  • Document technical designs, program logic, and system processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for existing mainframe applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest mainframe technologies and best practices.

Job Description: Business Analyst

We are also looking for a Business Analyst to support our ongoing projects. The Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, as well as facilitating communication between business stakeholders and the technical team. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of business processes.

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Create detailed business requirements documents, user stories, and use cases.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and workshops.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications for the development team.
  • Collaborate with the project team to ensure that solutions meet business objectives.
  • Perform gap analysis and identify areas for process improvement.
  • Develop and execute test cases to validate that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams.

Note: Candidates who are local or nearby Wisconsin are strongly preferred for this position.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Madison, WI
