Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tableau Administrator to lead a critical server migration project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for devising and executing a plan to build new Tableau servers in a new data center, ensuring minimal impact on existing development and production environments. This role requires meticulous planning, documentation, and execution to migrate both non-production and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Devise a comprehensive plan for building new Tableau servers in a new data center.
- Strategize on maintaining legacy server names where possible, ensuring minimal disruption to development and production operations.
- Set up 1 Non-Production Server environment.
- Establish 1 Production Cluster consisting of 5 Servers.
- Thoroughly document server details, migration plans, and timelines.
- Execute the migration of the non-production Tableau server environment.
- Provide ongoing support and necessary adjustments post-migration for the non-production environment.
- Execute the migration of the production Tableau server environment.
- Provide ongoing support and necessary adjustments post-migration for the production environment.
- Ensure all aspects of the migration are aligned with business continuity and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Tableau Administrator.
- Demonstrated experience with server migration projects, particularly in data center transitions.
- Strong understanding of Tableau Server architecture and infrastructure.
- Experience in planning and executing migrations for both development/non-production and production environments.
- Excellent documentation skills, including creating detailed plans and timelines.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during and after migration.
- Must be local to Dallas, TX.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
