Job Title: Tableau Lead

We are seeking an experienced Tableau Lead to join our team. This role involves leading the design, development, and optimization of Tableau dashboards and reports, as well as architecting and managing Tableau Server/Cloud environments. The ideal candidate will translate business requirements into effective data visualizations and perform dashboard performance tuning and data validation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of Tableau dashboards and reports.
  • Architect and manage Tableau Server/Cloud environments.
  • Translate business requirements into effective data visualizations.
  • Perform dashboard performance tuning and data validation.
  • Contribute to the holistic understanding of the Tableau ecosystem.
  • Ensure strong SQL and data modeling experience is applied.
  • Utilize strong communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate with business users and technical teams.

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Tableau Architecture: Deep understanding of Tableau Server, Tableau Cloud, Site Administration, TSM (Tableau Services Manager), Performance Tuning, and best practices for extracts vs. live connections.
  • Data Preparation: Experience with Tableau Prep, Alteryx, Informatica, ETL Pipelines, and Data Denormalization.
  • Advanced Visualization: Proficiency in Level of Detail (LOD) Expressions, Set Actions, Parameter Actions, Row-Level Security (RLS), and Dashboard Starters.
  • SQL Expert: Mastery of SQL, including Common Table Expressions (CTEs), Window Functions, Stored Procedures, Query Optimization, and understanding of Joins vs. Blending.
  • Data Modeling: Experience with Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling, Fact Tables, and Primary/Foreign Keys.
  • Modern Data Stack: Familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, and AWS Redshift, as automotive clients often use these for telematics and supply chain data.
  • Governance: Experience with Center of Excellence (CoE) setup, Data Governance, Style Guides, Template Creation, and Security Best Practices.
  • Strategy: Proven ability in Stakeholder Management, Requirements Gathering, User Adoption, KPI Definition, and Roadmap Planning.
  • Mentorship: Experience in Peer Reviews, Training Sessions, and Leading a team of developers.
  • Cloud Warehouses: Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery is highly desirable.
  • ETL Tools: Experience with Alteryx is often used alongside Tableau for complex ETL in this domain.
  • Row Level Security (RLS): Experience with RLS, Site Administration, automation via Tableau Prep, or using the Tableau REST API is a significant plus.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year
