Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Tableau/Power BI Developer to join our client’s team in Austin, TX. This is a hybrid position, requiring a balance of on-site and remote work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating dynamic dashboards and reports that translate complex business requirements into actionable insights. You will work closely with program staff and business stakeholders to ensure the delivered solutions meet customer needs and enhance data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Power BI, aligning with specific business requirements.
- Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of their data analysis needs.
- Translate business requirements into functional and visually appealing data visualizations.
- Participate in the testing and validation of reports and dashboards to ensure accuracy, functionality, and performance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to publish and promote reports, ensuring widespread adoption and utilization across the organization.
- Provide support and maintenance for existing reports and dashboards, making necessary updates and improvements.
- Leverage ETL tools, with a strong preference for Informatica, to support data integration and preparation processes.
- Contribute to the overall data strategy by identifying opportunities for enhanced reporting and analytics.
- Maintain documentation for developed reports, dashboards, and data processes.
- Adhere to data governance and security policies.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in creating reports or data analysis using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Cognos, Business Objects, or QlikView.
- Proven experience working with very large-scale data sets in databases like Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or Snowflake.
- Demonstrated experience in working with Tableau to create dashboards and reports.
- Demonstrated experience in working with Power BI to create dashboards and reports.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with Informatica ETL tools is strongly preferred.
- Experience in data analysis and business intelligence within the IT sector.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and principles.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and database design.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Work Environment
This position is based in Austin, TX, and offers a hybrid work model. Candidates will be required to be on-site 3 days per week, with the possibility of this schedule changing. Webcam or in-person interviews will be conducted.
