Role Overview: Tech Lead (Python + Databricks + Angular)
Quantum World Technologies Inc. is seeking a visionary and highly technical Tech Lead to join our dynamic engineering team in Iselin, New Jersey. This hybrid role is designed for a professional who thrives at the intersection of backend logic, large-scale data engineering, and modern frontend architecture. As a Tech Lead, you will be the cornerstone of our development lifecycle, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and elegant technical solutions. This position requires a local candidate who can participate in our hybrid work model, fostering collaboration and innovation within our Iselin office.
Technical Leadership and Strategy
- Direct a multi-disciplinary team of engineers across backend, frontend, and data streams to ensure cohesive product delivery.
- Oversee the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from initial architectural design to production deployment and maintenance.
- Mentor junior and senior developers, conducting rigorous code reviews and establishing high standards for code quality and documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and enterprise architects to define the technical roadmap and ensure alignment with business goals.
Backend Engineering Excellence with Python
- Architect and implement high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Develop sophisticated data processing frameworks that handle high-throughput enterprise data with minimal latency.
- Implement advanced error handling, logging, and observability patterns to ensure system reliability and ease of debugging.
- Optimize backend logic for scalability, ensuring the platform can handle growing user bases and data volumes.
Data Engineering with Databricks and PySpark
- Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines within the Databricks environment using PySpark and Spark SQL.
- Optimize Spark jobs for performance and cost-efficiency, leveraging Delta Lake and other modern data lakehouse patterns.
- Work closely with data architects to define data models, governance, and quality frameworks.
- Integrate Databricks workflows with cloud services like Azure or AWS to create seamless end-to-end data ecosystems.
Frontend Innovation with Angular
- Lead the development of responsive and user-friendly UI components using Angular (version 10 or higher).
- Establish best practices for state management (e.g., NgRx), component modularity, and UI performance tuning.
- Ensure seamless integration between the frontend application and backend services through well-defined API contracts.
- Focus on accessibility and user experience, ensuring the application meets the needs of a diverse user base.
Cloud, DevOps, and Infrastructure
- Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins to automate testing and deployment.
- Containerize applications using Docker and manage orchestration through Kubernetes or cloud-managed services.
- Monitor system health and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor, proactively addressing potential bottlenecks.
- Drive a culture of automation, reducing manual intervention in the deployment and scaling processes.
Engineering Excellence and Best Practices
- Promote a culture of test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) to ensure high code coverage and software reliability.
- Implement automated security scanning and vulnerability assessments within the CI/CD pipeline to maintain a secure software environment.
- Drive the adoption of observability tools such as ELK stack, Splunk, or Datadog to gain deep insights into application performance and user behavior.
- Conduct regular architectural reviews to identify technical debt and propose strategies for modernization and optimization.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
