Job Description:

Our Transportation Client in NYC is looking for a Telecomm Expense Financial Analyst for 12+ months. Please only local candidates ready to commute onsite each day.

THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE CONSULTANT TO WORK 100% ONSITE. MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ONSITE INTERVIEW IN BROOKLYN NY

The hiring manager is looking for a consultant with the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • In-depth experience with data analytics tools like Tableau, and the ability to work effectively with large data reports to ensure accuracy in identifying cost savings opportunities and optimizing expenditures and invoice overcharges from carriers.
  • In-depth analytical skills and excellent problem-solving abilities for addressing complex challenges.
  • Ability to manage high-level data reports, performing in-depth analysis of reports and communicating results to leadership. Familiarity with ServiceNow and Peoplesoft is a plus.
  • Extensive experience with Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, databases, PowerPoint, AI tools, and other relevant tools. SQL knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience in developing reports, presentations, and Power BI dashboards.
  • Proven ability to identify, recommend, and lead cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Superior Financial and analysis skills.
  • Superior invoice analysis, large data analysis, and vendor payment processing capabilities.
  • Experience in Telecom Expense Management, including managing telecom expenses, auditing telecom wireless, wired data usage, and charges.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize and explain complex information clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit and analyze large telecom billing datasets (wireline, wireless, international long distance, roaming, IoT/M2M) to identify inefficiencies, billing errors, and savings opportunities.
  • Benchmark international and domestic rates; map rate drivers and recommend alternative routing/pricing strategies.
  • Lead carrier/vendor negotiations (Verizon, AT&T, MVNOs, international carriers and suppliers) to reduce MRC/NRC and international charges.
  • Create and execute cost-savings projects end-to-end: scope, business case, timeline, risk mitigation, procurement, implementation, and acceptance.
  • Reconcile carrier invoices and dispute/rectify inaccuracies; implement invoice validation controls and automated checks.
  • Build and maintain detailed cost models, monthly reporting, and dashboards to show baseline spend, realized savings, and forecasts.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal (contracts), Procurement, Network Operations, and client stakeholders (e.g., the MTA).
  • Implement rate optimization strategies (pooled plans, aggregated contracts, negotiation of international tariffs, SIM management, rate card reassignments).
  • Document playbooks: contract negotiation playbook, invoice audit procedure, vendor scorecards, and escalation paths.
  • Act as an operational owner: hands-on with spreadsheets, willing to dig into line-level charges and drive remediation.
  • Manage 3rd-party consultants when needed; own vendor SLAs and deliverables.

MUST SPEAK ENGLISH FLUENTLY, MUST PROVIDE SHORT VIDEO OF THEMSELVES FOR SUBMITTAL, 37.5 hours per week, 100% ONSITE AT 2 BROADWAY IN NYC, MUST DO ONSITE INTERVIEW, INTERVIEW WILL BE ONSITE ONLY, MUST RESIDE IN Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx or Staten Island, NY ONLY!!, Manager will interview candidates asap!!! This will be a quick hire for the right person.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $50,000 – $80,000 per year (Estimated)
