Position Summary: Test Lead/Architect
K-Tek Resourcing is currently seeking a visionary Test Lead/Architect to join our team for a long-term engagement with our implementation partner, HCL America. This role is designed for a technical leader who excels in both manual and automated testing environments. You will be responsible for defining the testing strategy, building automation frameworks from the ground up, and mentoring a team of QA engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and a passion for quality engineering.
Core Responsibilities
- Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using WebdriverIO (WDIO) and other JavaScript-based automation tools.
- Automation Execution: Develop and execute automated test scripts using Selenium with Java to ensure comprehensive regression coverage.
- API & Backend Testing: Perform rigorous API validation using tools like Postman or Rest Assured. Write and execute complex SQL queries for database validation and backend integrity checks.
- Manual Testing Oversight: Lead functional and manual testing efforts when necessary, ensuring that edge cases are identified and addressed.
- Agile Leadership: Actively participate in and lead Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Defect Management: Oversee the identification, documentation, and tracking of defects through to resolution using industry-standard tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to align testing efforts with product roadmaps.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and professional support to junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with WDIO (WebdriverIO) or similar JavaScript-based automation frameworks.
- Proficiency in Selenium with Java and a strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming.
- Expertise in API testing concepts and database validation techniques.
- Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a QA Lead or Architect capacity.

This is a long-term contract opportunity based in San Antonio, TX. Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
