Position Summary: Test Lead (CIS & Automation)
We are currently looking for a seasoned Test Lead with a deep specialization in Customer Information Systems (CIS) and modern automation frameworks like Playwright. This role is critical for a major system migration project within the Utilities sector, based in Minneapolis, MN. As a Test Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance lifecycle, ensuring that complex data migrations and edge integrations are executed flawlessly. This is a 6-month contract engagement with the potential for extension, requiring a leader who can manage both technical execution and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities and Leadership
- Lead a dedicated team of QA testers through a high-stakes CIS system migration project involving data migration and edge integrations.
- Define and execute a comprehensive test strategy covering manual, automated, and integration testing (real-time and file-based).
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of test cases based on user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, and System Analysts to refine requirements and ensure alignment.
- Manage the defect lifecycle within JIRA, ensuring timely creation, updates, and resolution of stories and bugs.
- Ensure smooth, conflict-free releases by maintaining high test coverage and rigorous regression standards.
- Foster strong relationships with third-party vendors and cross-functional internal teams to test assigned features.
- Identify, mitigate, and resolve risks as they arise during the testing lifecycle.
Required Technical Expertise
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Utilities domain with a focus on technical and functional testing.
- Advanced proficiency in automation testing using Playwright and other modern automation tools.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise software such as SAP, Salesforce, IBM ACE, and SEEBURGER.
- Strong understanding of Utility IQ and other industry-specific platforms.
- Proven ability to interpret complex user stories and acceptance criteria into actionable test cases.
- Experience with CIS System Migration or Real-Time and File-based Integration testing is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
