Position Summary: Testing Specialist (Government Assignment)
VedaSoft Inc. is currently seeking a dedicated Testing Specialist for a high-priority government assignment based in Baltimore, MD. This role is a hybrid position, requiring onsite presence as needed. The successful candidate will focus on IT Auditing, Testing, and Quality Assurance services for complex, public-facing systems. This is a contract opportunity starting in March 2026, with potential extensions through 2028, offering a stable and impactful career path within the public sector technology space.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for complex, large-scale systems to ensure they meet functional requirements and user needs.
- Perform comprehensive testing of web applications, identifying defects and ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Utilize defect tracking and management tools, specifically JIRA, to document, track, and manage software issues through resolution.
- Collaborate with multiple functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Conduct backend database testing using SQL and PostgreSQL to verify data integrity and system performance.
- Perform API testing using tools like ReadyAPI to ensure robust communication between system components.
- Participate in performance testing using industry-standard tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or BlazeMeter.
- Ensure all testing activities align with Agile and iterative software development life cycle methodologies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and execution results.
Mandatory Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of complex, public-facing systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience specifically testing web applications.
- Proficiency with JIRA or similar defect management tools.
- Foundational knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including off-hours, weekends, and holidays as required by project timelines.
- Must meet all background and security requirements for government contracting.
- Local candidates to the Baltimore, MD area are preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $105,000 – $145,000 per year (Estimated)
