Position Summary: Tosca Quality Engineer (Remote)
Russell Tobin & Associates is looking for a seasoned Quality Engineer with 6 to 8 years of experience to join our team for a remote contract opportunity. This role is centered on leveraging Tricentis TOSCA for model-based test automation to enhance the quality and delivery speed of complex application suites. The successful candidate will act as an experienced Test Lead, assisting App Suite QEs in navigating complex projects with numerous dependencies and ensuring comprehensive test coverage across Integration and End-to-End (E2E) testing phases.
Core Technical Competencies
- TOSCA Automation: Expert-level proficiency in Tricentis TOSCA for creating, maintaining, and executing model-based test cases. You will be responsible for building robust automation frameworks that reduce manual testing efforts.
- API & Backend Testing: Extensive experience using Postman for API testing and SQL for data validation. You must be able to verify data integrity and backend service functionality independently.
- Performance Testing: Proficiency in JMeter for conducting performance and load testing to ensure application stability under various traffic conditions.
- Web Automation: Familiarity with Selenium for browser-based automation to complement TOSCA-based testing strategies.
- Test Management: Strong working knowledge of Jira for defect tracking, requirement mapping, and sprint management.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Engineer, you will plan and conduct a wide range of software quality tests and analyses. Your primary goal is to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards and align with the established quality management approach. You will focus on a blend of skills enabling efficient execution of risk-based testing, test data management, and test environment management. A significant portion of the role involves integrating testing into Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to improve delivery speed for business partners. You will lead complex projects, requiring meticulous test planning for multi-dependency systems.
Communication and Collaboration
This role demands strong written and verbal communication skills. You will be expected to articulate quality risks, provide detailed status reports, and collaborate effectively with developers and product owners in a fully remote environment. As a lead-level contributor, you will mentor junior QEs and drive the adoption of best practices in test automation and quality assurance. This is a C2C (Corp-to-Corp) requirement with a target rate of $40/hr, operating on Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.
