Position Summary
First Cloud INC is recruiting an experienced Trading Application Support Engineer for a premier onsite opportunity in Chicago, IL. This role is designed for a technical professional who thrives in the high-pressure environment of front-office trading. You will be responsible for the end-to-end support of mission-critical applications that facilitate Derivatives and Fixed Income trading for a global banking client. This is a 100% onsite position requiring a physical presence in the Chicago office to interface directly with trading desks and infrastructure teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver L2/L3 production support for high-frequency and algorithmic trading platforms.
- Monitor system health and order flow using advanced telemetry and the ELK stack.
- Diagnose and resolve FIX protocol connectivity and messaging issues in real-time.
- Utilize SQL and Unix/Linux command-line tools to investigate data discrepancies and system failures.
- Implement and maintain automated monitoring solutions using Python or Perl scripts.
- Support the transition to cloud-native architectures by managing deployments via Kubernetes and Docker.
- Coordinate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD best practices into the application lifecycle.
- Manage incident communication and lead post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence of critical issues.
Required Technical Expertise
- Deep domain knowledge in Capital Markets, specifically focusing on Derivatives and Fixed Income instruments.
- Hands-on experience with FIX Protocol (Order, RFQ, and Market Data flows).
- Proficiency in RabbitMQ messaging and SQL database management.
- Strong background in Unix/Linux environments and Windows Server operations.
- Experience with modern DevOps toolchains including Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to script in Python, Perl, or TCL for automation and log analysis.
- Familiarity with Cloud technologies (AWS/Azure/GCP) as applied to financial services.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year
