Job Title: Junior UI Designer, Design Systems (Figma)

We are looking for a Junior UI Designer with a passion for design systems and strong Figma skills. You’ll help maintain and evolve our component libraries, design tokens, and documentation so product teams can ship consistent, accessible interfaces quickly. You should be comfortable jumping from project to project, supporting multiple product areas while keeping the system organized and up to date.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain Figma libraries: update components, variants, Auto Layout, styles, and file organization to ensure consistency and ease of use.
  • Keep design tokens current: assist with naming, mapping, and basic theming in partnership with senior designers and engineers.
  • Update system documentation: add clear usage guidance, do/dont examples, accessibility notes, and change logs.
  • Partner with engineers: align components and tokens with code (e.g., CSS variables, Storybook or similar) and support versioned releases.
  • Triage and track requests: help review contributions, log issues, and prioritize small fixes and improvements.
  • Audit product files: flag inconsistencies, propose swaps to standard components, and support migrations.
  • Provide hands-on support: join design reviews, build UI with the system, and help teammates adopt patterns.
  • Embed accessibility: apply basic WCAG AA principles to components, colors, and behaviors.
  • Measure impact: help track adoption and identify opportunities to reduce bespoke patterns.

What You’ll Bring

  • 0-2 years of UI/UX experience; internships or coursework in design systems a plus.
  • Strong Figma proficiency: components, variants, auto layout, styles, libraries, and file hygiene.
  • Exposure to design tokens and interest in token workflows across platforms.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to produce concise guidelines and examples.
  • Proven ability to context-switch and work across multiple projects with guidance.
  • Basic understanding of front-end concepts (HTML/CSS, CSS variables, React).

Nice to Have

  • Experience documenting systems in zeroheight, Notion, Confluence, or similar.
  • Familiarity with coded component libraries and tools like Storybook.

Special Requirements

Remote-friendly within the US. Duration: Long Term.
