Job Overview
We are seeking a seasoned analyst with a strong background in the utility and energy sector for a critical Project Management role. This position requires a deep understanding of utility markets, data validation, and financial analysis related to consumption and expenses. The ideal candidate will be responsible for daily review and monitoring of utility market data, including energy/commodity options markets, and will contribute to modeling and forecasting efforts. This role involves extensive data analysis, identifying trends, and generating insightful reports. Additionally, the candidate will be involved in testing and maintaining billing systems and performing other administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform data validation for utility data, including consumption and expense analysis.
- Conduct daily review and monitoring of utility market data (e.g., Energy/Commodity Options market).
- Develop and maintain models for utility market forecasting.
- Analyze utility usage data to identify trends and generate comprehensive reports.
- Test and maintain billing systems.
- Perform other administrative tasks as required.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience as a seasoned analyst in the utility or energy field.
- Strong understanding and analytical experience in utility modeling and forecasting.
- In-depth knowledge of the Utility Market, including Energy/Commodity Options markets and their impact analysis.
- Unique understanding of the impact of energy on the government sector.
- Specific knowledge of key partners such as NY Power Authority, Con Edison, National Grid, and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP; NYC Water).
- Familiarity with the functions of a Utility Management firm (e.g., AvidXchange) or experience working with consulting firms in this domain.
- Understanding of the impact on the residential market and various alternative energy technologies (e.g., solar, heat pumps).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
