Role Overview: Senior UX Designer (Fintech & Banking)
We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary UX Designer to join our dynamic team in McLean, Virginia. This role is pivotal in shaping the digital future of our client’s financial services, specifically focusing on credit union public websites, digital banking platforms, and native mobile applications. As we move into 2026, the landscape of financial technology demands a seamless, secure, and highly accessible user experience. You will be at the forefront of this evolution, ensuring that every digital touchpoint for our members is intuitive, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing.
Core Responsibilities and Design Excellence
- Lead the end-to-end design process for complex financial workflows, including account onboarding, loan applications, and real-time payment systems.
- Utilize advanced Figma capabilities, including auto-layout, complex components, and interactive prototyping, to maintain and scale a robust design system.
- Conduct deep-dive user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and uncover pain points in the current member journey.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Compliance officers to ensure designs meet business goals and regulatory standards.
- Champion accessibility by implementing WCAG 2.x and ADA compliance standards across all digital platforms, ensuring an inclusive experience for all users.
- Develop high-fidelity wireframes, user flows, information architecture maps, and personas that reflect the diverse needs of credit union members.
Domain Expertise and Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience from the banking or fintech sector. Understanding the nuances of financial UI—such as clarity in disclosures, fraud prevention cues, and complex data visualization—is essential. You will be responsible for designing user journeys that simplify the complexities of digital servicing, bill pay, and transfers. Your expertise in both iOS and Android native design patterns will ensure a consistent experience across all devices. We utilize a Design Thinking and Double Diamond approach to problem-solving, and we expect you to be a practitioner of these methodologies to drive innovation within the team.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
