Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled UX Engineer with a strong backend orientation to join our elite front-end engineering team within the Investment Banking and Global Markets divisions. This hybrid role, based in New York City, is designed for a professional who can bridge the gap between sophisticated user interface design and robust backend integration. You will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and evolving large-scale Angular applications that power critical trading, analytics, and AI platforms for one of the world’s leading financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex, modular Angular applications using industry best practices for performance, maintainability, and testability.
- Collaborate with senior architects to define application structure, state management strategies, and seamless integration patterns.
- Leverage modern technologies including RxJS, Signals, Apollo GraphQL, and Angular CDK to build scalable front-end architectures.
- Utilize advanced build tooling such as Nx, Vite, and ESBuild to optimize development workflows and application performance.
- Partner closely with UI/UX designers and product owners to deliver clean, accessible, and intuitive interfaces for high-volume, data-rich financial applications.
- Contribute to rigorous code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical design sessions to ensure the highest code quality.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt enhancements within the Angular ecosystem, including new language features and design patterns.
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical craftsmanship.
- Champion improvements in CI/CD pipelines and front-end development standards across the global organization.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4+ years of professional experience developing enterprise-grade web applications using Angular (v19+ preferred).
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, RxJS, HTML5, and CSS3 (including Tailwind or SCSS).
- Proven experience in large-scale enterprise systems, specifically within the financial services or investment banking sectors.
- Deep understanding of component-driven design, module boundaries, and advanced state management.
- Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs, OAuth2/OIDC authentication flows, and secure coding practices.
- Experience with modern unit and integration testing frameworks such as Jest and PlayWright.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile, and cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Skills and Environment
Ideal candidates will have exposure to Nx monorepos, Angular Signals, or hybrid SSR setups like Angular Universal. Experience integrating with Spring Boot, Node.js, or other enterprise-level APIs is highly valued. You should be familiar with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitHub Actions, and code-quality tooling like SonarQube. Special Requirements
Need Local to New York or New Jersey only. F2F interview required. Investment Banking or Financial Domain experience is mandatory.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
