Experience with autonomous vehicle sensor suite hardware and automotive mechanical and electrical systems is highly valued. Flexibility to work night and/or weekend shifts as needed is also required.
What you’ll be doing:
- Debug, maintain, and integrate systems into vehicle platforms.
- Triage reported in-vehicle issues, which may relate to sensors, vehicle ECUs, vehicle communication, data logging equipment, software, and more.
- Resolve vehicle communication issues, design solutions, and initiate incidents when necessary.
- Be hands-on, including disassembling vehicle components, to determine the root causes of reported issues.
- Act as the first responder for vehicle-related issues.
- Propose suggestions for improvements to prevent recurring platform issues.
What we need to see:
- Hands-on experience in diagnosing automotive bus systems and working on vehicles (including disassembly and assembly of parts). Demonstrated high proficiency in these areas is crucial.
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (Automotive, Electrical, IT, or similar) or equivalent practical experience.
- In-depth experience with ECU communication/protocols/technologies (e.g., CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
- Experience with diverse automotive sensors, including radars, cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and LiDAR.
- A strong technical problem-solving ability and a proactive attitude.
- Extensive computer skills, including ECU flashing, IP/Ethernet networking, and Linux command line experience. Excellent communication skills are also required.
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts and/or evening shifts.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Computer-savvy, with experience in scripting languages and the Linux operating system.
- Excellence in troubleshooting and problem-solving for Automotive Electronics installations.
- Experience with state-of-the-art automotive bus analyzing tools (e.g., Vector CANoe/CANalyzer).
- Experience working with the latest sensor technology for autonomous driving platforms, including sensor calibrations.
