Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Verification and Validation Engineer to join our client, RTX, in Vergennes, VT. This role is critical for ensuring the quality and compliance of safety-critical aerospace systems by performing software verification and validation activities in accordance with DO-178B/C guidelines. The ideal candidate will have experience with embedded avionics software, test plan development, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated test procedures for embedded avionics software.
- Perform functional, integration, and system-level testing to ensure software meets specifications.
- Conduct requirements-based testing at unit, integration, and system levels.
- Perform structural coverage analysis (MC/DC) as mandated by DO-178B/C standards.
- Validate software against defined requirements and design specifications.
- Meticulously document test results and prepare detailed compliance reports.
- Collaborate effectively with development and system engineering teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects.
- Ensure the overall quality and reliability of safety-critical aerospace software systems.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience with aerospace standards, specifically DO-178B/C.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle processes in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools such as DOORS.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python or Perl for automation.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems development.
- Experience with configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with requirements traceability.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as ARINC 429, ARINC 661, and CAN.
- Experience working with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) environments, such as VxWorks.
