Position Summary
Pacer Staffing is seeking an experienced L2 Application Support Engineer to provide critical operational support for a mission-critical WebSphere Commerce Suite (WCS) 8.x e-commerce platform. This role requires a professional with strong troubleshooting skills, proactive monitoring capabilities, and incident response expertise to ensure the optimal performance and availability of online commerce systems. You will be responsible for maintaining the health of the application environment, responding to production alerts, and coordinating with various stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues in a high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to production incidents and alerts within defined SLA timeframes, performing initial analysis for performance and functionality issues.
- Troubleshoot order processing failures, payment gateway issues, and checkout problems within the WCS environment.
- Investigate and resolve cache-related issues affecting product data, pricing, and inventory synchronization.
- Analyze application logs to identify patterns and resolve recurring issues through root cause analysis.
- Monitor application health using enterprise tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or Nagios.
- Track key performance metrics including response times, throughput, and error rates, especially during peak traffic periods.
- Execute service restart and recovery procedures for WCS components and manage the WCS scheduler and batch jobs.
- Coordinate incident response activities and communicate status updates to technical and business stakeholders.
- Adhere to ITIL processes including incident, problem, and change management.
Technical Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in application support or technical support roles.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with WebSphere Commerce Suite (WCS) 8.x or similar e-commerce platforms.
- Proficiency with database technologies including DB2, Oracle, or SQL Server, and strong SQL skills.
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and command-line operations.
- Understanding of web technologies such as HTTP/HTTPS, load balancers, and web servers.
- Experience with monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or similar APM solutions.
- Ability to work in a 24×7 shift-based support environment.

Contract-C2C. Requires 24×7 shift-based support. Domain: E-commerce (WCS 8.x).
Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $155,000 per year (Estimated)
Location: Springfield, MO
