Role Overview
Tech Rakers Inc is currently looking for an experienced Workday Financial Consultant for a hybrid role based in Rockville, Maryland. This position is specifically targeted at local candidates within the Maryland area; non-local profiles will not be considered. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing and maintaining Workday Financial Management systems for our client. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in Workday modules and a strong understanding of financial business processes. As a consultant, you will work closely with finance teams to ensure the system meets regulatory requirements and operational needs. This is a high-impact role that requires both strategic thinking and hands-on technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and support of Workday Financials modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Asset Management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications within the Workday environment.
- Design and execute test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Provide ongoing production support, troubleshooting system issues, and implementing effective solutions.
- Develop custom reports and dashboards using Workday’s reporting tools to provide actionable insights to the finance department.
- Manage system updates and new feature releases, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Ensure data integrity and security within the Workday Financials system by maintaining appropriate security groups and permissions.
- Train end-users on Workday functionality and best practices to maximize system adoption and efficiency.
- Partner with IT and Finance leadership to align Workday capabilities with long-term business goals.
- Document system configurations and business processes to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Proven experience as a Workday Financial Consultant with a deep understanding of Workday’s core financial modules.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Experience with Workday integration tools and reporting (EIB, Report Writer, Calculated Fields).
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, requiring regular on-site presence in Rockville, MD.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Workday Financials certification is highly desirable.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $170,000 per year (Estimated)
