Job Overview:
DMS Vision Inc. is seeking an experienced Workday HCM Manager for a 6-month contract role. This position is 100% remote, with potential for minimal travel for key milestones. The ideal candidate will provide interim leadership and oversight to the Workday HCM team, ensuring program governance and operational stability. This role requires strong experience in Workday HCM, particularly within the healthcare industry, and the ability to manage a team of certified Workday professionals.
Current Workday Landscape:
- Live modules include: Core HCM, Benefits, Compensation (including Advanced Compensation), Learning, Talent, Recruiting.
- Payroll and Absence are managed by a separate team.
- The environment includes 14 bargaining units and ongoing M&A activity.
- High complexity in Benefits and organizational pressure around Advanced Compensation optimization and Talent Acquisition process improvement.
Team Structure:
- Current span of control is 9 direct reports.
- Team members support primary and secondary functional areas.
- There are 23 upcoming vacancies.
- The team is fully remote and composed of experienced, Workday-certified staff.
- One team member has an operations background and strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interim leadership and oversight of the Workday HCM team.
- Maintain program governance and operational stability.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across HR and business functions.
- Help push non-IS administrative work back to the business where appropriate.
- Oversee ongoing updates, support activities, and daily ticket volume.
- Navigate organizational politics and initiate strategic conversations as needed.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Strong Workday HCM functional leadership experience (healthcare preferred).
- Experience managing certified Workday teams.
- Deep understanding of Benefits and Advanced Compensation (nice to have).
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable in complex, unionized environments.
- Politically savvy and confident in executive-facing conversations (nice to have).
- If converted to full-time, the candidate would need to obtain Workday certification (if not already certified).
