Job Description: Workday PMO & Governance Analyst (Contractor)

We are looking for a skilled Workday PMO & Governance Analyst (Contractor) to provide essential operational support for Workday governance, portfolio visibility, reporting, documentation, and third-party risk management (TPRM). This role is crucial for ensuring that governance routines are well-documented and adhered to, all materials and artifacts are meticulously maintained in Confluence, and Workday vendor risk/compliance activities, including Archer attestations and ongoing monitoring, are completed punctually and kept in an audit-ready state. The analyst will also play a key role in preparing materials for CIO-level sessions.

  • Job Title: Workday PMO & Governance Analyst (Contractor)
  • Location: Detroit, MI
  • Duration: 6-12 months
  • Position Type: Contract
  • Responsibilities:
    • Support CIO-level sessions by coordinating logistics, preparing and distributing materials and pre-reads, capturing detailed meeting minutes, maintaining decision and action logs, and driving follow-up to closure items.
    • Maintain and continuously improve Workday governance documentation and artifacts within Confluence, including operating rhythms, templates, RACI matrices, process flows, decision logs, and knowledge articles.
    • Administer the Confluence site and ensure content hygiene for Workday governance and delivery processes.
    • Support portfolio execution by tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, approvals, and key dates; escalate blockers and risks with clear context and recommended next steps.
    • Assist with third-party risk (TPRM) activities, including Archer attestations, ongoing monitoring tasks, evidence collection, due date tracking, and maintaining audit-ready documentation for vendors.
    • Maintain third-party relationship trackers and coordinate with internal partners and vendors to meet compliance timelines.
    • Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize governance and documentation practices, thereby improving consistency, transparency, and audit readiness.
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • 2-3 years of experience in PMO, project coordination, governance operations, vendor risk coordination, or enterprise application support roles.
    • Demonstrated strength in documentation and knowledge management, with advanced experience using Confluence (page design, templates, governance repositories, content organization).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality meeting minutes and stakeholder-ready summaries.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage recurring deadlines across multiple workstreams.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Exposure to Workday (HCM, Recruiting, Finance, or related areas) and/or HR technology environments.
    • Experience supporting TPM processes and tools (e.g., Archer), compliance routines, or audit support.
    • Familiarity with Agile delivery concepts and basic SDLC/release management practices.

This contract role offers a great opportunity to contribute to critical Workday governance and PMO functions within a dynamic environment. If you possess the required qualifications and are seeking a challenging contract position, we encourage you to apply.
