About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Zscaler Security Engineer to join our client’s team. This role is crucial for deploying, managing, and optimizing Zscaler solutions (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) within a large enterprise environment. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust security policies, supporting Zscaler migrations, and ensuring seamless integration with endpoint and cloud platforms. This position requires advanced troubleshooting skills and a strong understanding of Zero Trust principles and network security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and manage Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX for large enterprise environments.
- Design, implement, and optimize security policies including SSL Inspection, URL Filtering, Sandbox, Access & Timeout Policies, and Client Forwarding.
- Support Zscaler migration projects and integration with Workspace ONE / MDM platforms.
- Deploy and manage ZPA App Connectors in data centers and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
- Manage Zscaler Client Connector (ZCC) agent profiles, configuration updates, and rollout strategies.
- Maintain SSL Inspection Exemption lists for certificate-pinned applications.
- Support the development and monitoring of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.
- Perform advanced L3/L7 troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, MTR, Zscaler Analyzer, ZSATunnel & ZSATray logs.
- Utilize ZDX and other Zscaler diagnostics to analyze and resolve latency and performance issues.
- Act as Level 3 escalation for P1/P2 incidents and coordinate with Zscaler TAMs & Support.
- Manage Zscaler-related tickets and escalations within ServiceNow.
- Collaborate effectively with infrastructure, cloud, network, and security teams.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documentation, and knowledge articles related to Zscaler.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in network security, cloud security, or Zero Trust architecture.
- Strong hands-on expertise with ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, and ZCC is mandatory.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS/SSL, Proxy architecture, authentication (SAML/AD), IPSec/GRE.
- Proficiency in packet analysis using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Experience with AWS/GCP, including networking fundamentals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle processes (Agile, SCRUM).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to all levels of employees, customers, and management.
- Ability to work independently and lead problem-solving efforts.
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced enterprise environments.
Preferred Certifications:
- Zscaler: ZCCPIA, ZCCPPA, ZCCA
- Security: CEH, CISSP (added advantage)
- Networking: CCNP Security
- AWS Cloud Certifications
Additional Information:
- This is an onsite contract position.
- Multiple locations are available: Mountain View, CA; San Diego, CA; Plano, TX.
- The role requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
