Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Application Security Architect to formalize and evaluate application security processes. This role involves working closely with software development teams to ensure security is integrated into the application lifecycle, especially with the rise of GenAI and new technologies. The ideal candidate will be able to translate business requirements into security requirements and understand how applications are deployed and function in the cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security architecture and threat modeling for new and existing applications.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure secure coding practices and timely certification of releases.
- Evaluate and integrate security measures for GenAI initiatives and other emerging technologies.
- Provide expertise in cloud security, particularly AWS.
- Analyze and understand potential cyber threats related to AI advancements.
- Read and understand code to better assess application security.
- Understand cloud deployment processes and how applications function.
Must-Haves
- Proven experience in security architecture and threat modeling.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, with a focus on AWS.
- Familiarity with application security best practices.
- Ability to work with development teams and understand their processes.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with GenAI, Large Language Models (LLM), and Agentic AI.
- Ability to research and speak to new technologies, even if not directly experienced.
- Understanding of how AI impacts cyber threats.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Engage with software development teams on security matters.
- Review code for security vulnerabilities.
- Understand application deployment on cloud platforms.
- Assess and communicate the impact of AI on cyber threats.

Contract Details
- Duration: 6+ Months Contract with potential for extension.
- Location: Hybrid – Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA.
- Clearance: USC, GC, and EAD candidates are encouraged to apply.
Special Requirements
Visa: USC, GC, EAD. Interview: 30 min Zoom, 90 min onsite with security team. Domain: Application Security, GenAI, Cloud Security.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $100 – $150 per year (Estimated)
