Job Title: Citrix VDI Engineer

Location: New York, NY (Onsite 5 Days)

Duration: Contract

Job Description:

Our team of Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for the design, engineering, configuration, implementation, and support of application and desktop virtualization platforms and services. This is a senior-level technical engineering role which will focus on all aspects of management of these platforms and developing solutions to support the business requirements accordingly.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, engineer, and implement new technology solutions according to provided guidelines and requirements.
  • Deploy technology infrastructure to deliver services with high availability, reliability, and agility.
  • Create standards for software and environment architecture to ensure that enterprise-level system design meets requirements for high availability, redundancy, security, and performance.
  • Coordinate and execute the installation of client and department-specific applications and systems. Includes creation, management, and maintenance of software deployment packages.
  • Monitoring and support of global, on-premise, and cloud infrastructure. Monitor server performance and perform daily health checks.
  • Regularly work with other technology teams, business partners, application leads, project management groups, and/or any other relevant stakeholders when developing and implementing solutions.
  • Integrate managed systems with other business and technology solutions.
  • Review, recommend, and implement new technology solutions and participate in systems planning processes. Provide recommendations that are inline with the strategic vision for the enterprise.
  • Review, recommend, and implement improvements and changes to existing technology solutions.
  • Develop design and process standards according to provided specifications and policies.
  • Ensure that policies, procedures, and standards are being adhered to.
  • Periodic review and upgrade of system firmware, software, and configurations.
  • Create, update, and present technical architecture and design documentations.
  • Create, update, and present technical procedural documentations.
  • Provide administrative support including operation, expansion, and maintenance of all systems and equipment within the identity and collaboration domain.
  • 3rd line (L3) support of all identity and collaboration infrastructure.
  • Provide resolution to complex issues and service outages off-hours as needed for emergencies and urgencies.
  • Provide end-user support for escalation from L1, L2, and offshore support teams.
  • Manage vendor and 3rd Party support escalations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for 24/7 L3 support.
  • Work with project management teams on developing project plans.
  • Present and speak in management presentations and meetings as required.
  • Technical training of other staff as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop.
  • Citrix Cloud Services.
  • Virtual Apps and Desktops.
  • Virtual Apps and Desktops Standard for Azure.
  • Gateway and Endpoint Management.
  • Analytics and Performance.
  • Microapps.
  • Secure Workspaces Access.
  • ITSM Adapter.
  • Workspace Environment Management.
  • Windows Server All Versions.
  • Windows Desktop All Versions.
  • Microsoft SCCM.
  • Microsoft FSLogix Profiles.
  • Microsoft Office 365.

Desirable Experience and Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in an enterprise global technology infrastructure team with similar responsibilities (servers, networking, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with application and desktop virtualization services and platforms.
  • Specific experience with Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and/or Citrix Cloud is a must.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server and Desktop OS platforms is a must.
  • Strong understanding of software packaging and deployment is a must.
  • Strong skills with scripting/automation.
  • Ability to comfortably work both independently and as a collective team is extremely important.
  • Experience managing network and distributed computing environments.
  • Experience in medium/large corporate systems rollout and support.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and tasks concurrently, setting own agendas and effectively prioritizing tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work under manageable pressure and deadlines.
  • Networking experience including LAN, WAN, and SAN is a plus.
  • Experience in media and entertainment is a plus.
  • Experience in working with onshore-offshore environment is a plus.
  • Experience working with consolidating and migrating users and technology platforms in a MA scenario is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodology and ITSM principles a plus.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)
