About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to own supplier quality for PCB/PCBA in defense programs, from design through production scale. This is a critical role that ensures the integrity and reliability of our electronic components within demanding defense applications.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) with engineering teams and define product requirements, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and test specifications.
  • Qualify and develop suppliers, leading rigorous processes such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Manage and scale builds from prototype stages to full production, ensuring smooth transitions and efficient manufacturing.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, focusing on cost, quality, and delivery metrics to maintain high standards.
  • Lead corrective actions, including Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA), ensuring compliance with AS9100, ISO, and ITAR regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing, with a strong background in electronics/Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS).
  • Solid understanding of PCB/PCBA, with a preference for experience in aerospace/defense industries.
  • Demonstrated experience with PPAP, FAI, IPC standards, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% for supplier audits and on-site support.

Nice to Have:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
  • Expertise in testing and inspection, including automated inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SAP, Teamcenter, Altium, and Jira.

One-Liner:

Lead supplier quality for complex electronics, driving build readiness, compliance, and scale.


Special Requirements

~50% travel, AS9100/ISO/ITAR compliance, defense programs


Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 per year

Location: Los Angeles, CA
