Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer with a specialized background as an Ex-TIAA Consultant to join our dynamic team in Charlotte, NC, or remotely. This role is pivotal in maintaining the high standards of quality and reliability for our financial services software products. As the industry moves toward more complex, event-driven architectures in 2026, your role will involve ensuring that our automation frameworks are not only robust but also adaptable to rapid changes in the financial technology landscape. You will be a key player in our Quality Engineering transformation, moving beyond traditional testing into a proactive engineering mindset.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable test automation frameworks using Java, Python, and Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to define comprehensive test strategies that cover functional, regression, and integration testing.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and Docker to facilitate continuous testing and rapid delivery cycles.
  • Conduct deep-dive API testing using Postman or RestAssured to validate backend services and complex integrations, ensuring data integrity across the platform.
  • Utilize Playwright for end-to-end testing of modern web applications, focusing on performance, accessibility, and user experience.
  • Monitor and analyze automated test results, identifying defects early and working with the development team to ensure timely resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Leverage cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP for distributed testing and deployment purposes.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure quality is integrated into every stage of the SDLC.

Technical Stack & Requirements

  • Proven expertise in Java, Python, and TypeScript/JavaScript, with a specific focus on Playwright for modern web automation.
  • Strong experience with messaging and streaming platforms like Kafka for testing asynchronous data flows.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Deep understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices in a highly regulated financial environment.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration within CI/CD environments.
  • Previous experience as a TIAA consultant is a mandatory requirement for this specific engagement, ensuring familiarity with internal processes and domain-specific requirements.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,000 – $188,000 per year (Estimated)
