Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Business Analyst with a deep specialization in the Banking and Financial Services domain. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical implementation within a fast-paced Agile environment. Located in Berkeley, NJ, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving data-driven insights, managing intricate integration projects, and ensuring that financial workflows are optimized for efficiency and compliance. As the financial industry continues to undergo rapid digital transformation heading into 2026, the need for precise data analysis, seamless API integrations, and disciplined Agile project management has never been greater.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Data Analysis and SQL: You will be expected to perform deep-dive data analysis to support business decisions and technical troubleshooting. This involves writing complex SQL queries to extract data from relational databases, validating data integrity across multiple environments, and performing root-cause analysis for any discrepancies found in financial reporting or transaction processing.
  • Agile Leadership and Project Management: Operating within a mature Agile framework, you will utilize tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps (ADO) to manage the product backlog. You will be responsible for drafting high-quality user stories, defining clear acceptance criteria, and facilitating essential Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
  • Technical Integration and API Management: A significant portion of this role involves working with modern integration patterns. You must have a solid understanding of how APIs function, including the ability to read and interpret JSON and XML schemas. You will collaborate closely with software engineers to define data mapping requirements and ensure that third-party integrations align with our internal banking workflows.
  • Banking Domain Expertise: Your knowledge of the financial services landscape will be vital. This includes an understanding of payment processing, core banking systems, regulatory compliance (such as KYC/AML), and the general lifecycle of financial products.
  • Stakeholder Management: You will serve as the primary liaison between business units and the IT department. This requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to negotiate priorities among diverse groups of stakeholders, ensuring that the most high-value features are delivered on time and within scope.

Technical Proficiency

  • Expertise in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and validation.
  • Deep understanding of API behavior and the ability to work with developers on integration requirements.
  • Proficiency in Agile project management tools such as JIRA and ADO.
  • Familiarity with financial data formats and messaging protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst within the US banking sector.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess a proactive mindset, capable of navigating the complexities of modern banking infrastructure. You will be expected to take ownership of the requirements lifecycle, from initial discovery to final testing and deployment. In the evolving landscape of 2026, the ability to adapt to new financial technologies and regulatory shifts is paramount. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that define the future of digital banking services in the New Jersey region. We value innovation, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. If you are a technical professional with a passion for the banking industry and a track record of delivering successful projects in an Agile environment, we encourage you to apply.
