  • Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data governance across multiple agile delivery teams, ensuring that ‘Data Governance by Design’ is a reality.
  • Define and maintain canonical data models for payment rails, including ACH, SWIFT, and real-time payment systems, ensuring semantic consistency across the ecosystem.
  • Drive the implementation of automated data lineage and metadata tagging within CI/CD pipelines to provide end-to-end transparency from source to consumption.
  • Establish robust data quality rules and monitoring frameworks to ensure regulatory readiness and operational excellence in clearing, settlement, and liquidity reporting.
  • Oversee the classification and handling of sensitive customer data, ensuring strict adherence to global privacy regulations and internal risk controls.
  • Collaborate with internal audit and regulatory bodies to address findings and continuously strengthen the governance framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Architecture within the Financial Services sector.
  • Deep domain expertise in Payment and Transaction Banking, including familiarity with clearing, settlement, and liquidity management.
  • Proven track record of implementing data governance in large-scale, agile, or scaled-agile (SAFe) environments.
  • Advanced expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, with a focus on financial industry standards.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-leading data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica) and metadata management practices.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements impacting banking data, such as BCBS 239, GDPR, and CCPA.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence both technical delivery teams and senior business stakeholders.
