Role Overview
Pyramid Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Full Stack Developer for a long-term contract engagement in Tampa, FL or Jersey City, NJ. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 12 years of hands-on experience in enterprise-level software development. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex full-stack applications using modern Java technologies and cloud-native architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop responsive and high-performance front-end components to integrate with backend services.
- Architect and manage event-driven systems utilizing Apache Kafka for real-time data processing.
- Deploy and manage applications within AWS environments, ensuring high availability and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and technical specifications.
- Mentor junior developers and conduct rigorous code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex production issues.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in Java development.
- Expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, and RESTful API design.
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS).
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing.
- Solid understanding of front-end technologies and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.

Candidates must be local to the Tampa or Jersey City areas as a face-to-face interview is mandatory for the first round. We are looking for proactive individuals who can drive technical excellence and deliver robust solutions within a fast-paced environment. This is a 12-month contract with potential for extension based on performance and project needs.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
