Position Summary
Key Infotek is looking for a Senior Network Engineer (L3) to join our team in New York City. This high-level technical role involves handling escalated incidents, performing deep root cause analysis (RCA), and designing complex network solutions for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in firewall architecture, routing, and switching, capable of operating in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all L3 queries and provide guidance to junior team members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and transition advanced network solutions including CheckPoint and FortiGate firewalls.
- Manage and troubleshoot Catalyst and Nexus switches, load balancers (F5 and Citrix), and Web proxy technologies (Zscaler, McAfee).
- Develop technical deliverables such as network assessments, capacity planning, and detailed design documents using Visio.
- Perform root cause analysis for P1 through P4 incidents to ensure service performance expectations are met.
- Troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and VoIP equipment across a broad range of devices.
- Maintain up-to-date industry certifications and stay current with modern security threats and defenses.
- Collaborate with clients in a consultative manner to evaluate and select technical solutions that meet business needs.
- Ensure all network processes and procedures are authored and strictly adhered to.
Technical Qualifications
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, IT, or Systems Engineering.
- Professional expert-level certifications: Fortinet FCSS, Fortinet FCP, or Fortinet NSE 4-8 are highly preferred.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Fortinet products (FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) and Cisco/Checkpoint solutions.
- Deep understanding of routing protocols including eBGP, iBGP, OSPF, and IPSEC.
- Expertise in LAN/WAN administration, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, NAT, and wireless technologies.
- Experience with Pulse Secure Access Gateway and Citrix NetScaler ADC Load balancers.
- Proficiency with Zero Trust frameworks and NIST CSF standards is a significant bonus.
Additional Requirements
Candidates must be flexible to work in a 24/7 environment and willing to travel as needed. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year
