Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated iOS Software Engineer for a long-term contract position based in Culver City, California. This role is specifically designed for a senior-level developer who possesses a deep mastery of the Apple ecosystem and a proven track record of delivering high-performance applications. As we look toward the technological landscape of 2026, this position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile solutions that demand precision, scalability, and an exceptional user experience. The ideal candidate will be a local resident within a 50-mile radius of Culver City and will ideally have prior experience working directly with or at Apple.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of advanced applications and frameworks for iOS, macOS, and other Apple platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and UI/UX designers, to transform complex requirements into seamless digital experiences.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Swift, ensuring adherence to the latest industry standards and best practices.
  • Utilize SwiftUI, UIKit, and AppKit to build responsive and visually stunning user interfaces that align with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Perform rigorous debugging and performance profiling using tools such as Xcode, lldb, and Instruments to ensure optimal application stability.
  • Integrate with backend services and third-party APIs to provide robust functionality and data synchronization.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in the Apple ecosystem and proactively suggest improvements to existing workflows and architectures.

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional industry experience in software development, with a primary focus on building applications for iOS or macOS.
  • At least 5 years of intensive, hands-on experience with Swift and a deep understanding of its memory management and concurrency models.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following frameworks: AppKit, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
  • Proficiency with essential development tools including Xcode, git for version control, and advanced debugging suites.
  • Solid understanding of architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVC, and Clean Architecture.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks for mobile applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex codebases and legacy systems.

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Equivalent professional experience will be considered for candidates with an exceptional portfolio.
  • Previous experience working at Apple (Ex-Apple) is highly preferred and will be a significant differentiator in the selection process.
  • A strong portfolio of successfully shipped applications on the App Store is a major plus.

Location and Constraints

This position is strictly local to the Culver City, CA area. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius to facilitate potential on-site requirements and local team integration. We are looking for individuals who are already established in the Southern California region. This is a contract engagement with a competitive compensation structure reflecting the high level of expertise required for the role.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $180,000 – $250,000 per year (Estimated)
