Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled SAS 9.4 Support Platform Administrator to join our dynamic team in New York, NY. This long-term engagement requires a professional with 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience in managing complex SAS environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya 3.5 platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for our enterprise data initiatives. This role is critical for maintaining the backbone of our analytical capabilities and requires a deep technical understanding of both legacy and modern SAS architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive installation and configuration of SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya 3.5 environments across enterprise servers.
- Manage Postgres database upgrades and ensure seamless data integration across various platforms and modules.
- Handle license renewals, apply critical hotfixes, and manage complex job scheduling to maintain system integrity and uptime.
- Troubleshoot complex ETL jobs within the SAS Data Integration Studio to minimize downtime and ensure data flow accuracy.
- Implement and manage Access Control Lists (ACL) to ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Execute start and stop procedures for SAS 9.4 and Viya services on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) systems efficiently.
- Update RHEL packages and maintain the underlying operating system environment to support SAS applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality technical solutions in a timely manner.
- Provide stakeholder management and clear communication regarding system status, maintenance windows, and project milestones.
Technical Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience as a SAS Platform Administrator in a large-scale environment.
- Proficiency in SAS 9.4 and SAS Viya 3.5 administration, including installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of RHEL and Linux command-line operations for service management.
- Experience with Postgres database management and SQL query optimization.
- Familiarity with ETL processes and SAS Data Integration Studio for job management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Your role extends to supporting data scientists and analysts, helping them navigate the platform and resolve any connectivity or performance issues they encounter. By maintaining a stable and scalable SAS infrastructure, you enable the organization to leverage advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities effectively.
Special Requirements
Comfortable to work in Agile Methodology; Experience with SAS Viya 3.5 and RHEL is mandatory.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $178,000 per year (Estimated)
