Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Associate Product Manager to join our Payments team in New York City. This is a high-impact contract role focused on the end-to-end delivery of innovative payment solutions. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and launching products that address complex customer and merchant challenges in the digital commerce space. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the payments domain, including digital wallets, payment processing, and money movement. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality payment solutions by guiding cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle. We are looking for product owners who lead with product thinking and arent afraid to dive into technical detail, who can take responsibility for driving development, monitoring performance and scaling to millions of customers while fostering a culture of innovation, learning and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the product delivery lifecycle from initial ideation through to production launch and post-release monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Technology, Design, and Analytics to develop and deliver product and platform strategies from 0-1.
- Translate business opportunities into scalable product features, creating detailed user stories, process flows, and technical requirements for engineering teams.
- Manage the product backlog creation and grooming, support agile product delivery, launch and go to market for product, production support, and issue resolution.
- Conduct pre-release reviews, including regression testing and quality assurance, to certify the release as production ready.
- Monitor performance against goals, identify and scope implementation paths for needed enhancements, and create remediation plans when needed.
- Ensure a strong risk and controls environment by collaborating with cross-functional partners such as Risk, Controls, Legal, and Compliance.
- Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the engineering and product teams.
Technical and Domain Expertise
The successful candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, particularly in API-driven architectures and Agile development methodologies. You should be comfortable diving into technical details with engineering teams while maintaining a strategic view of the product roadmap. Experience in the Fintech sector or with large-scale payment platforms is highly preferred. You must demonstrate the ability to manage stakeholders in a matrixed organization and drive change effectively. Strong knowledge of APIs, engineering practices, and the product development lifecycle using Agile methodologies is essential for success in this role.

You will act as a bridge between business vision and technical execution, ensuring that every feature delivered aligns with the broader organizational goals. You leverage your product management skills to innovate on translating business opportunities into products adopted by customers at scale.
Agile Leadership and Collaboration
Working within an Agile framework, you will lead scrum ceremonies, manage sprint planning, and ensure that the development team has a clear understanding of the product vision. You will be responsible for removing blockers and fostering a collaborative environment where developers and designers can thrive. Your leadership will extend beyond the immediate team as you manage relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders across different business units. This requires a high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics to achieve successful outcomes. You will work closely with developers and testers to ensure the team correctly translates requirements into working technical designs and test plans.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with a strong preference for candidates with extensive financial services or product management backgrounds.
- Proven track record of delivering scalable platforms and seamless customer experiences in a digital environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering practices, APIs, and the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) using Agile methodologies.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable field of study.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100 – $140 per year
