Role Overview: Senior IBM Sterling Commerce OMS Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IBM Sterling Commerce OMS Developer to join our dynamic team in Atlanta, GA. This is a critical role that requires a deep understanding of order management systems and the ability to design and implement complex solutions for large-scale retail environments. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of specialized experience in IBM OMS and a total of 15 years in the IT industry, demonstrating a proven track record of successful implementations.

Key Responsibilities and Architecture Design

  • Define and design end-to-end OMS architecture leveraging the full suite of IBM OMS modules, including Distributed Order Management (DOM), SIP, Logistics Management, and Supplier Collaboration.
  • Drive comprehensive assessments for projects across all IBM OMS modules, ensuring alignment with enterprise-level to-be state architecture.
  • Develop and execute integration strategies with various platforms such as ERP, WMS, CRM, e-commerce, payment gateways, and logistics providers.
  • Lead technical design reviews and prepare detailed high-level and low-level design documentation.
  • Ensure that the proposed architecture effectively supports business requirements and project implementation goals.
  • Oversee the implementation and customization of IBM OMS pipelines, participant models, inventory management, and order routing processes.
  • Manage system scalability, security, compliance, and performance tuning to ensure optimal system health.
  • Establish and govern CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes specifically tailored for OMS solutions.

Technical Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Mentor and manage OMS development teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and support to business analysts, developers, and QA teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Champion agile methodologies and operational excellence within the development team.
  • Conduct technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions to upskill the team on the latest IBM OMS features.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, and IT teams to align technical architecture with strategic business goals.
  • Present solution options, fit-gap analyses, and project roadmaps to senior leadership.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of IT experience, with at least 10 years focused on IBM OMS architecture and implementation.
  • Proven track record of multiple successful IBM OMS implementations for large-scale retailers.
  • Deep expertise in IBM OMS (including containerized and cloud versions), Java, Angular, XML, XSLT, and REST/SOAP web services.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and its application within the OMS ecosystem.
  • Hands-on experience in customizing DOM, Pricing, Inventory, Call Center, and Store modules.
  • Experience with Nextgen OMoC 2.0 and expertise in both B2B and B2C implementations.
  • Solid understanding of Sales Order, Procurement Order, and Transfer Order flows, as well as tax integrations and reverse logistics.

Special Requirements

Onsite/Offshore model with Indian Delivery team; flexibility with timings is required for cross-timezone collaboration.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Atlanta, GA
