Position Summary: Data Scientist / AI Consultant
WorkNovas LLC is urgently hiring a Data Scientist for a high-impact role based in Reston, Virginia. This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring three days onsite per week. We are looking for a visionary data professional who can bridge the gap between complex mathematical theory and practical AI-driven business solutions. The ideal candidate will have a mastery of machine learning frameworks and a proven ability to deploy models in production-grade cloud environments.
Core Responsibilities and Technical Scope
In this role, you will be at the center of our AI initiatives, developing and optimizing deep learning models using industry-standard frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of AI applications, from initial data processing and exploratory analysis to the construction of robust AI pipelines. A key focus of this position is the deployment of solutions on the AWS platform, requiring a deep understanding of cloud architecture and MLOps principles.
- Develop, train, and fine-tune machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
- Build and maintain automated AI pipelines for data ingestion, model training, and deployment.
- Analyze massive, complex datasets to extract actionable insights and improve model accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders and software engineers, to identify AI opportunities.
- Implement CI/CD practices specifically for AI applications within an AWS ecosystem.
- Utilize MLOps tools such as MLflow or Kubeflow to manage model versioning and monitoring.
- Leverage big data technologies including Spark, Hadoop, and Databricks for large-scale data processing.
- Apply advanced AI techniques in domains such as Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Computer Vision where applicable.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate must demonstrate expert-level programming skills in Python, R, or Java. A solid foundation in mathematics and statistics is non-negotiable, as it forms the basis for all algorithmic development. You should have hands-on experience with a wide array of machine learning algorithms and a clear understanding of how to scale these solutions in the cloud. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for navigating the ‘unexpected’ challenges inherent in data science projects.
Interview Process and Environment
This is an urgent requirement. The interview process will involve a video screening followed by a mandatory final round Face-to-Face (F2F) interview at our Reston, VA location. Candidates with relevant certifications from AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or major educational platforms (Coursera, edX) will be given preference.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
