Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Agile Coach to join our IT PMO Team within the Agile Practice. This critical role is designed for a professional who can support teams and stakeholders as they navigate the evolution of their working methodologies within a mature, process-oriented corporate environment. The focus of this engagement is on fostering sustainable agile adoption through incremental, meaningful improvements rather than disruptive, wholesale organizational changes. You will work with teams at various stages of their agile journey, helping them improve delivery capabilities while respecting existing governance structures and business needs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated team-level coaching to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA professionals, and development teams to instill effective agile practices.
  • Facilitate essential agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement, ensuring they remain productive and outcome-oriented.
  • Assist teams in enhancing their delivery capabilities, focusing on the consistent completion of high-quality work within defined sprint cycles.
  • Guide teams in the development of robust working agreements and collaboration patterns that respect both agile principles and organizational constraints.
  • Work closely with the PMO and governance structures to integrate agile methodologies into existing business frameworks.
  • Support Project Managers in navigating hybrid environments where traditional Waterfall and Agile approaches must coexist harmoniously.
  • Conduct workshops for new team launches and continuous improvement initiatives, building a culture of transparency and accountability.
  • Contribute to the definition and refinement of organizational standards for agile adoption and delivery excellence.

Stakeholder and Capability Building

  • Establish trust and credibility with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to executive leadership.
  • Translate complex agile concepts into tangible business value language that resonates with leadership and aligns with strategic goals.
  • Identify and mitigate systemic impediments that hinder team effectiveness or slow down the delivery pipeline.
  • Develop sustainable internal capabilities by sharing knowledge through structured training, informal mentoring, and hands-on workshops.
  • Empower teams to become self-organizing and self-healing by teaching effective problem-solving and facilitation techniques.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to the internal Community of Practice to share insights and drive consistency across the enterprise.

The successful candidate will be a champion for continuous improvement, helping teams find the right balance between agile principles and organizational realities. This role requires a deep understanding of various agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean) and the ability to adapt them to fit the specific context of a large IT organization. You will be expected to act as a mentor and a change agent, driving the adoption of agile mindsets and behaviors. The ideal candidate brings deep agile experience but is equally comfortable with traditional project management approaches, ensuring that the transition to agile is smooth and adds value at every step. This is a contract position that requires a high degree of emotional intelligence and the ability to influence without direct authority.
