Role Overview
We are seeking a highly seasoned SAP S/4 HANA Developer with specialized expertise in Python for a long-term, onsite contract engagement in San Antonio, Texas. This position is designed for a technical leader with over 15 years of experience in the SAP ecosystem, specifically focusing on the integration of modern data engineering practices within an S/4 HANA environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping our client, who has recently gone live on SAP S/4 HANA, to effectively tie their enterprise data into the new system using Python-based automation and advanced data modeling techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Python-based integration layers to connect SAP S/4 HANA with external data sources and legacy systems.
- Architect and implement robust data pipelines within the BW 4HANA environment to ensure seamless data flow and reporting accuracy.
- Utilize Azure Storage, Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouse architectures to manage large-scale enterprise data sets.
- Execute complex HANA data modeling to support high-performance analytics and business intelligence requirements.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and scalable code.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and serve as a subject matter expert on Python integration within SAP landscapes.
- Optimize existing data models and ETL processes to improve system performance and reduce latency.
- Ensure all developments adhere to enterprise security standards and best practices for data governance.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in Information Technology, with a primary focus on SAP technologies.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python development, particularly for data engineering, ETL, and system integration.
- Deep hands-on experience with SAP S/4 HANA and BW 4HANA.
- Proven track record of working with Azure cloud infrastructure, including Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Lakehouse concepts.
- Strong expertise in HANA data modeling and SQL optimization.
- Experience in full-lifecycle SAP implementations and post-go-live support.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex data architectures.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical business users.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $255,000 per year (Estimated)
