Position Overview
Vy Systems is currently seeking a talented and detail-oriented Test Automation Engineer with specialized experience in the Payment Domain to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. This role is critical to ensuring the quality and reliability of high-volume financial transaction systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in automation frameworks and a deep understanding of the unique challenges associated with payment processing, including security, compliance, and real-time data validation. As part of our quality engineering team, you will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with developers and product owners to deliver robust software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated testing frameworks for web and mobile applications within the financial services sector.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation strategies and ensure maximum test coverage for complex payment workflows.
- Execute automated test suites and perform detailed analysis of results to identify, document, and track software defects.
- Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to facilitate continuous testing and rapid deployment cycles.
- Perform API testing and validation for payment gateways, ensuring seamless integration with third-party financial providers.
- Stay current with industry trends in automation tools and payment technologies to continuously improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to provide quality-focused insights and advocate for best practices.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards such as PCI-DSS and other financial regulations.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Test Automation Engineer, specifically within the Payment or Banking domain.
- Strong proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript for developing robust test scripts.
- Deep understanding of the payment transaction lifecycle, including authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI.
- Familiarity with cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker.
- Knowledge of SQL for database validation and data-driven testing strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Work Schedule & Location
This position is based in Charlotte, NC, and follows a hybrid work model requiring three days of onsite presence per week. This structure provides the perfect balance of collaborative team engagement and focused remote work. Charlotte is a major hub for financial services, and this role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge payment technologies that impact millions of users. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and be able to commute to the Charlotte office regularly.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $160,000 per year (Estimated)
