Role Overview: Information Security Architect
We are seeking a highly experienced Information Security Architect for a critical onsite role in San Antonio, TX. This position is designed for a technical leader with a deep background in identity management and security frameworks. As an Information Security Architect, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and governance of security solutions that protect enterprise assets. This role requires a minimum of 12 years of IT experience, with a specific focus on modern security protocols and identity federation.
Technical Requirements and Core Competencies
- Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA): Deep understanding of Zero Trust principles, including continuous verification and least privilege access models.
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): Proficiency in OAuth, SailPoint, and SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) for automated provisioning.
- Identity Federation: Extensive experience with SAML, OIDC, and complex identity federation patterns across hybrid cloud environments.
- Privileged Access Management (PAM): Hands-on expertise with CyberArk and other PAM tools to secure administrative credentials and sessions.
- Architecture Documentation: Ability to create and maintain domain-specific documentation, ensuring all deliverables meet enterprise standards.
- Application Development: Foundational knowledge in Java Full Stack development and modern application architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for onboarding new third-party vendors, ensuring their security posture aligns with internal standards.
- Guide vendors through complex architectural processes, governance requirements, and security controls.
- Partner with Technical Architects to review solution designs, integration patterns, and technical capabilities for new implementations.
- Facilitate cross-functional engagement between internal product teams, governance partners, and external service providers.
- Document design assessments, technical risks, and architectural decisions to maintain a clear audit trail of security compliance.
- Explain complex technology decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Experience and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Technology or Engineering degree. We require a minimum of 12 years of overall IT software development experience, with at least 3 years specifically focused on software engineering, systems engineering, or technical analysis. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing multiple onboarding efforts in a structured, process-driven environment. Strong communication skills are essential for simplifying complex security concepts for diverse audiences.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $245,000 per year (Estimated)
