Role Overview: SAP Enterprise Architect
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Enterprise Architect with over 10 years of specialized experience to join our Enterprise Architecture team within the Utilities domain. This critical role is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the enterprise-wide SAP S/4HANA architecture, ensuring it remains perfectly aligned with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and long-term digital transformation objectives. The ideal candidate will possess extensive end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementation experience and a deep understanding of utility industry processes, including asset management, billing, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, maintain, and govern the SAP S/4HANA enterprise architecture specifically tailored for utility operations.
- Develop and manage multi-year SAP roadmaps that align with business goals and Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards.
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture design across complex SAP S/4HANA landscapes.
- Provide architectural leadership across various SAP modules, including FI/CO, MM, SD, PM/EAM, and SAP IS-U / S/4HANA Utilities.
- Guide ECC to S/4HANA transformation strategies, including greenfield, brownfield, and hybrid approaches.
- Drive modernization initiatives by leveraging SAP BTP, cloud technologies, and hybrid architectures.
- Establish and enforce architecture standards, governance models, and industry best practices.
- Ensure full compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with business, IT, cybersecurity, and risk teams to ensure solution integrity and resilience.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on SAP strategy and architectural decisions.
- Oversee SAP vendors and Managed Services partners, ensuring strict adherence to standards and SLAs.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of SAP experience, with a significant portion in an Enterprise Architect capacity.
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end SAP S/4HANA implementations.
- Experience supporting Managed Services and large-scale enterprise SAP landscapes.
- Strong knowledge of utility industry processes (asset management, billing, customer service, regulatory reporting).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Preferred: SAP Certified Technology Professional – System Security Architect.
- Preferred: SAP S/4HANA Architecture and/or SAP Utilities certifications.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position based in Houston, TX. The current expectation is a hybrid model requiring 4 days in-office and 1 day remote. Candidates must have genuine experience, a valid visa, and a verifiable LinkedIn profile.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $190,000 – $250,000 per year (Estimated)
