Role Overview
We are seeking an expert SAP ABAP EWM Consultant to join our enterprise technology team. This role is primarily based in Raritan, NJ, with significant remote flexibility, focusing on the development and optimization of our SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) systems. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of EWM solutions, ensuring that our warehouse operations are supported by robust, scalable, and efficient ABAP code. You will work at the intersection of technical development and functional warehouse processes, playing a key role in our ongoing digital transformation and S/4HANA migration efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement custom ABAP solutions specifically for the SAP EWM module, including complex warehouse tasks and process-oriented storage control.
- Develop and maintain a wide range of RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms) to support unique business requirements.
- Customize and extend standard SAP EWM functionalities using BAdIs, User Exits, and the Enhancement Framework.
- Architect and implement seamless interfaces between SAP EWM and other enterprise systems such as SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and third-party logistics providers.
- Utilize advanced integration technologies including ALE/IDoc, BAPI, RFC, and OData services to ensure data consistency across the landscape.
- Provide high-level production support, performing complex debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning for critical EWM processes.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to translate warehouse operational needs into detailed technical design documents.
- Ensure all developments comply with SAP best practices, internal coding standards, and security protocols.
- Lead technical aspects of system upgrades, applying support packages and ensuring compatibility with new SAP releases.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including unit test plans and deployment guides, to ensure long-term system maintainability.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience in SAP ABAP development with a specialized focus on the EWM module.
- Proven expertise in EWM-specific programming, including the EWM Monitor, RF Framework, and Post Processing Framework (PPF).
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and its integration with Extended Warehouse Management.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) and modern development tools like ADT (ABAP Development Tools in Eclipse).
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 development and OData service creation is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of warehouse management business processes, including inbound/outbound processing, internal movements, and physical inventory.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues in a high-pressure production environment.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $210,000 per year
