Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Production Operations Lead / Lead Production Engineer with a specialized focus on the Microsoft technology stack, including Windows Server, IIS, and Azure. This role is critical for maintaining the operational integrity and delivery of the Cybersoft application suite. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end release processes and the full lifecycle management of applications running on IIS, hosted on Windows Server, and integrated with SQL Server data layers. Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in managing our expanding footprint in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
Key Responsibilities
- Release & Deployment Management: Own the comprehensive release management process for .NET/IIS-based applications. You will orchestrate complex deployments across hybrid environments, including on-premises Windows Server clusters and Azure cloud infrastructure.
- CI/CD Pipeline Optimization: Manage and secure Azure DevOps (Azure Pipelines) workflows. You will be responsible for promoting build artifacts through various staging environments into production while enforcing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using ARM Templates and Terraform.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure the high performance, security, and availability of IIS web applications. You will partner closely with DevOps teams to scale Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters and oversee database deployment processes for SQL Server.
- Incident Command: Act as the primary incident commander for production issues. You will coordinate between development, infrastructure, and database teams to triage issues using IIS logs, Windows Event Viewer, Azure Monitor, and Kubernetes logs.
- Process Standardization: Drive the standardization of the build-test-deploy-monitor process to improve efficiency and reduce deployment risks.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in IT operations or DevOps.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in technical production, release, or platform management.
- Deep expertise in the Microsoft Stack: Windows Server, IIS administration, and SQL Server.
- Proven proficiency with Azure DevOps, including YAML pipelines and artifact management.
- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes (AKS), specifically managing pods, ingress, and deployments.
- Strong scripting capabilities in PowerShell (required) and ideally Python or Bash.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Site24x7, DataDog, or Application Insights.
Professional Environment
This is a 6-month Contract-to-Hire position located onsite in North West Houston, TX. The role requires a candidate who is comfortable in a fast-paced, high-stakes production environment where uptime and reliability are paramount. You will lead go/no-go meetings and drive rigorous Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for all production incidents to ensure long-term system stability.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $104,000 – $114,400 per year
