Role Overview: Voice VoIP Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Voice VoIP Engineer to join our technical operations team in Iselin, New Jersey. This specialized role is critical for the management, optimization, and security of our enterprise-wide telephony and communication infrastructure. In the landscape of 2026, where seamless and reliable communication is the backbone of business operations, this position focuses on the integration of traditional VoIP systems with cutting-edge collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams. A non-negotiable requirement for this role is extensive experience with E911 systems, ensuring that our emergency response capabilities are fully compliant with federal regulations and provide the highest level of safety for our employees. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience managing large-scale Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) environments, demonstrating a deep understanding of call routing, dial plans, and system administration. You will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of Cisco UCS platforms and Oracle Session Border Controllers (SBC), which are vital for our external connectivity and security. Additionally, your expertise will extend to call recording systems, specifically the Nice platform, to support our compliance and quality assurance initiatives. This is a contract position offering a competitive rate of $55 per hour, designed for a professional who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with our networking team to ensure that Quality of Service (QoS) parameters are optimized for voice traffic across our global network. The role also involves significant work with Microsoft Teams Calling, bridging the gap between legacy hardware and modern cloud-based communication solutions. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who can troubleshoot complex voice issues and provide Tier 3 support to our internal stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to work with industry-leading technologies and play a key role in the evolution of our communication strategy.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Requirements

  • Administer and optimize Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) for large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Implement and maintain E911 emergency services, ensuring full regulatory compliance and reliability.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Oracle Session Border Controllers (SBC) to manage external voice traffic.
  • Support the integration and migration of legacy voice systems to Microsoft Teams Calling.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco UCS infrastructure and general networking components related to voice.
  • Oversee Nice call recording systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with corporate policies.
  • Monitor voice network performance and optimize QoS settings to ensure high-quality audio.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable voice solutions.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting for complex VoIP and telephony issues.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations and operational procedures.

Special Requirements

E911 experience is a mandatory requirement; Contract position.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $114,400 – $135,200 per year

Location: Iselin, NJ
