Role Overview
Tanisha Systems Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Azure Data Architect with deep expertise in the Insurance domain to join our dynamic team. This is a critical contract-to-contract (C2C) role based in Madison, WI, or Chicago, IL, requiring a hybrid presence of three days onsite. As a senior leader in our data practice, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and delivering sophisticated data products that drive value across key insurance business lines, including Customer, Claims, and Policy management. You will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and cutting-edge cloud technology, ensuring that our data infrastructure is robust, scalable, and future-proof.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and govern comprehensive conceptual, logical, and physical data models specifically tailored for Insurance domains to facilitate the creation of high-value Data Products.
- Understand and implement enterprise data architecture and structures aligned with Azure and Snowflake services, ensuring seamless integration and high performance.
- Map complex data elements from various insurance workflows and legacy applications to modern Operational Data Stores (ODS) and Data Warehousing environments.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and platform architects to enable advanced insights and analytics that deliver measurable business value.
- Support and optimize Azure-based data platforms, focusing on model performance, cost-efficiency, and long-term extensibility.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and engineering workflows using SQL and Python, ensuring data integrity and reliability across the ecosystem.
- Create and oversee the development of sophisticated reports and dashboards that provide actionable intelligence to executive leadership and operational teams.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, with at least 5 years focused on the Azure platform. You must have a proven track record of designing large-scale data solutions in the insurance sector. Proficiency in SQL and Python is mandatory, as is a deep understanding of Data Lake and Data Warehousing concepts. While MS Fabric and Snowflake are mentioned in the broader context, the primary focus for this role is Azure Data Architecture within the Insurance domain. You should be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and possess the communication skills necessary to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Experience with E-Verify and working within a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) environment is a plus.
Domain Expertise
A profound understanding of the insurance lifecycle is essential. Candidates must demonstrate experience with insurance-specific data structures related to policy administration, claims processing, and customer relationship management. You will be expected to translate insurance business logic into technical specifications that leverage the full power of the Azure cloud suite. This role requires a strategic thinker who can anticipate the evolving data needs of the insurance industry and implement solutions that provide a competitive advantage.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $200,000 – $280,000 per year (Estimated)
